Aaah-Spring!!!!
Spring is the season when the flowers bloom. It’s a little warmer out. The sun is a bit more brighter.
The season when we all are so eager to get the best Spring hair styles as possible.
Good ol’ Spring! It’s so near, we can almost taste it!
In the natural hair world, Spring is also the season when protective styling is at its peak- especially for the spring break period where young girls and women have one lasting opportunity to go back to their last few months of school and work and slay with a new do!
We all know that protective styles are great for hair growth while also looking good in the process. But, lets shed a little light on how you can still maintain your Spring time styles with lots of fun twist, vibrant colors, coily curls, and exotic cuts.
1. Edgy Cuts and Curls
Something about Spring makes us want a fresh, new start. How about starting with a fresh haircut? Right now trending in the natural hair community is the “Spirit Cut” it’s the same as the tapered cut you see a lot of these days. Spring styling can be care free. If you are not bold enough yet to try a new cut, then try curls or coils. These two styles I love. Curls and coils last a bit longer in the Spring time long as you keep them dry (from the rain lol). When you get the curls you feel like a new woman. As the days go by and the style gets a little older guess what? You just pull the curls apart and keep rocking your Spring style. Check out the ladies below flaunting their Spring time curls and coils.
2. Spring Two Strand Twist Extensions
Now this style is my all time favorite and it is also a great protective style. During this time, low maintenance styles can be worn many different ways from a funky bob to twist down your back. It is Spring time ask your stylist about adding a little highlight of color just so you can pop a little. Do not be afraid to try new hairstyles. You will love this care free Spring style.
3. Radiant Colors
Nothing describes Spring better than color whether its your attire or your hair. It’s just something about women and color (we love it)!!!! Now many of us naturals love to experiment at home with color PLEASE go to a professional before you become a “Mad Scientist”. When coloring your hair you need to be conscious of the maintenance that comes along with being fabulous such as moisturizing your hair more often, conditioning your hair, and also continue getting your ends trimmed on a regular basis. Last but not least please do not be afraid to ask your stylist questions. We are here to help you better care for your crown. What color would you like to try this Spring? Red, Purple, Blue, Pink, etc.? Whatever you decide….HAVE FUN!!!!!
Thank you for referring to our Twist and Curls Blog. We hope that you are ready to come out of Winter shell and spring into some Springing Hairstyles!!!!!!
